PHProxy
- PHProxy was created by Abdullah Arif and version 0.1 was released on June 15th, 2004.
- The script became a popular alterative to CGIProxy due to the fact that it was coded in PHP which itself was growing in popularity during this period.
- The latest version of the script is 0.5 beta 2 which was released on January 20th, 2007.
- Sadly this will be the last installment of the original PHProxy script . No further development will take place however the script can still be downloaded from the SourceForge website.

Glype
- Developed in PHP5 and using the cURL libraries.
- Glype 0.1 Beta was first released on May 27th, 2007. By taking advantage of the cURL libraries the script has been marketed as a fast and reliable alternative to both PHProxy and CGI Proxy.
- The latest version of the script (1.4.3) was released on 01-04-2013 and the project remains in active development with several updates being released since the initial launch of the script.
CGIProxy
- James Marshall released the first version of the Perl based CGI Proxy on August 3rd, 1998.
- The project continues to be updated with the most recent release being 2.1.6 which was released on February 4, 2013.
- This gives the script almost 15 year history which has led to it becoming one of the most popular of the proxy scripts available today.
